CASE STUDIES
Contact/Locum Work
Below are examples of short term type roles and instructions which I have been involved with over my career and demonstrates the experience which can be brought to benefit future clients.
Eurovea, Bratislava
Eurovea was a landmark 1m sq ft mixed use development constructed by client Ballymore on the banks of the Danube which incorporated a three level shopping mall, Sheraton Hotel, Riverfront apartments, bars and restaurants with Offices behind incorporating a new public square/event space fronting the new Slovak Theatre.
With no office in Slovakia I provided remote management of the scheme liasing with the on site team and the accounts department based in Prague.
I visited site on a monthly basis to meet with the client and the review progress during the important first 12 months of operation. Ultimately once successfully established, the management was taken in-house and I was responsible for managing this transition.
Project STEPS
In 2002 under Project STEPS (Strategic Transfer of the Estate to the Private Sector) the estate of more than 600 buildings were transferred to Mapeley Estates Limited and as part of the senior management team at DTZ was tasked with creating and resourcing stand alone office to oversee the management of the North East portfolio stretching from Nottingham to the Scottish border.
Once established, I oversaw the team working with the client's appointed FM provider to create the portfolio database and from there work to create business plans for all of the properties within our region. After the first 12 months of operation a strategic decision was taken to centralise the estates function and my role evolved to ensuring the most cost effective strategy for re-deploying our resources and ensuring the smooth transition of the instructions into the new structure.
